A comprehensive introduction to seamanship for competent crew to make good decisions on board.
The RYA Day Skipper Theory Course is the first component for a Day Skippers Qualification. The course is made up of theory classes in a classroom environment that will prepare you for your practical course, when you head out on the water.
Assumed prior knowledge: Candidates should have some previous sailing experience and a minimum qualification of an RYA Competent Crew Certificate beneath them.
Ability after course: Theory knowledge to crew a small yacht in familiar waters by day.
